April 1, 2015

Its 1st April ! For some the first day of Spring. Did you know that April comes from the Latin word "aipirie" meaning "to open" which of course is very appropriate for this time of year with all the spring flowers and buds opening. At least we are having some sun shine and the grass in my garden is going mad.

To celebrate the spring I thought that I would share a small drawing which is part of a very large project that I am working on - to chronicle the life and secrets of the fairy world. This drawing includes one of the first spring woodland flowers just opening at this time of year - the wood anemone. Stand by for coloured paintings as I do them!
